April 24‑26, 2026 saw the Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of International Law convene in Shanghai. 

Centered on the theme “Upholding the Rule of Law in International Relations and Improving Global Governance” and guided

by the core principle of “Firmly Safeguarding the Post‑war International Order with a Correct View of International Law”, the 

conference conducted in‑depth discussions over major subjects including foreign‑related rule of law, global governance, 

international dispute settlement, and rule‑of‑law issues in emerging fields. Co‑hosted by the Chinese Society of International 

Law and East China University of Political Science and Law, the event was undertaken by the University’s International Law School. 2026年4月24日至26日，中国国际法学会2026年学术年会于上海举办。本届年会以“坚守国际法治，完善全球治理”为主题，紧扣“以正

确的国际法观坚定维护战后国际秩序”主线，围绕涉外法治、全球治理、国际争端解决、新兴领域法治等重大议题展开研讨。本次会议

由中国国际法学会与华东政法大学联合主办，华东政法大学国际法学院承办。 Qin Tao, Senior Partner at DeHeng Shanghai Law Firm, together with lawyers Cheng Ran, Gao Yue, and trainee lawyer Chen Weimin, 

were invited to attend the conference. As invited practical experts in foreign‑related legal practice, they delivered special presentations 

and joined panel discussions for the session on “Research on the Application of International Law”.

邀参与“国际法运用研究”专题的发言与研讨。 Also serving as a postgraduate supervisor at East China University of Political Science and Law, Qin Tao has long taught and mentored 

LLM students specialising in foreign‑related legal practice and international arbitration at the International Law School. Believing that 

international law gains its vitality through application and practice, Qin Tao leads a specialised foreign‑related legal team. Drawing on 

20 years of domestic and international case‑handling experience together with cutting‑edge cross‑border legal practice, the team conducts 

thorough research on frontier international‑law issues responding to China’s practical demands for foreign‑related rule of law. Several of their 

papers have been included in the annual conference proceedings of 2024, 2025 and 2026, namely *Practical Analysis on Chinese Parties’ Judicial

Remedies Where Foreign Parties Harm Sino‑foreign Joint‑venture Companies via Related‑party Relationships*, *Practice, Rules and Optimisation of 

the Reciprocity Principle in Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments between Chinese and German Courts*, and *Frontier Research on Practical 

Issues Concerning Application of International Treaties and Customs in Chinese Foreign‑related Commercial Trials*. 秦韬律师同时兼任华东政法大学硕士生导师，长期在国际法学院授课，带教涉外律师、国际仲裁方向法律硕士研究生。国际法的生命力在于运用与实践，

和国际惯例在我国涉外商事案件审理中的适用实务问题前沿研究》等文章，先后被收录进2024年、2025年、2026年国际法学会年会论文集。 During this year’s conference, Qin Tao and Cheng Ran gave a special presentation titled *Frontier Research on Practical Issues Concerning Application 

of International Treaties and Customs in Chinese Foreign‑related Commercial Trials* for the “Research on the Application of International Law” session. 

Grounded on latest judicial practice, they put forward concrete proposals and outlooks aimed at developing and refining a more systematic set of rules 

governing how Chinese courts apply international treaties and international customs in foreign‑related trials. 在本次年会研讨环节，秦韬律师与程然律师围绕“国际法运用研究”议题，结合当下前沿司法实践，作题为《国际条约和国际惯例在我国涉外商事案件审理中

的适用实务问题前沿研究》的专题发言，并提出多项具体建议与展望，以期完善、构建更加体系化的规则，指引我国法院在涉外审判中适用国际条约与国际惯例。 Attracting more than 1,500 participants including experts, practitioners and young students from universities, research institutions, government authorities, 

judicial organs and the legal service industry nationwide, the annual conference showcased the latest outcomes of China’s international‑law research in the 

new era. It pooled collective wisdom to advance the development of foreign‑related rule of law, improve the global governance system and push forward 

progress in international rule of law. 本届学术年会汇聚全国高校、科研院所、政府部门、司法机关及法律服务行业专家学者、实务工作者与青年学生共计1500余人，集中展示新时代中国国际法领域

的最新研究成果，为推进涉外法治建设、完善全球治理体系、促进国际法治进步贡献专业智慧。
